vinyl (but you can use a standard grip)

HTV (heat transfer vinyl) – plain, glitter, foil or flocked
printable sticker paper

acetate – clear plastic
chipboard
craft foam
magnetic sheets
felt
If you aren’t sure and you are working with a new material I recommend you do a small test cut of something first.
I also recommend using the spatula to help lift your projects off the mat especially until you know how a material is going to “act”.
Buy a variety pack of mats so you always have the right mat for the job!
