Frequently Asked Questions
Why are the downloads in a ZIP file?
This is just the way the WordPress plugin requires it to be delivered.
Can I use these files to make things to sell?
Yes and no…. yes to sell to friends, family and at local craft shows etc. NO to selling anything online like on Etsy.
How do I convert a SVG file to a DXF file?
If you are a Cameo user you need a .dxf file to load into your Silhoutte Studio the easiest way I know you can conver them is in an inkscape program. Inkscape is a totally free program that not only would allow you to convert these files but you can use it to make your own cut files. Only download this program from the official inkscape website.
What is “ungroup” mean?
When I make a file I group it together to hold everything in place so when you load it into Design Space it’s not all willy nilly all over the place. Many files are grouped together but can be “ungrouped” so that you can choose to use certain parts of that file without having to use the whole thing. See a video about this here.
What does it mean to “weld”?
In Design Space if something is not welded together it can choose to cut it the best way it will fit on the vinyl which isn’t ideal if you are making a decal or something that you want cut in one piece. So if you want it something all cut together you want to select those items and weld them. Here’s a video!
How do you do this for FREE?
This site is my hobby but it does cost me money to host the blog, etc. This site makes money from ads and affiliate programs as well as donations. So that’s why there are so many ads all over the page. Tips are also appreciated! You can throw a couple of dollars in our virtual tip jar here.
How can I get in touch with freesvgs.com?
You can send a message through the Facebook page.
